Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Notes

Make sure the bananas are very ripe for the best flavor and texture. You can use either pecans or walnuts in this recipe, or omit the nuts entirely if you prefer. The sour cream in the recipe adds moisture and a tangy flavor to the bread.
