  • Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados

  • 1/2 red onion, finely diced

  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 lime, juiced

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Cut the avocados in half and remove the pit. Scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
2
Mash the avocado with a fork or potato masher until it is smooth with some chunks remaining.
3
Add the diced red onion, diced tomato, chopped cilantro, minced garlic, and lime juice to the bowl with the mashed avocado.
4
Stir gently to combine all the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
5
Serve immediately with tortilla chips or use as a topping for tacos or a spread for sandwiches.

Notes

To keep the guacamole from browning, store it in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed against the surface of the guacamole to keep air out. For a spicier guacamole, add finely diced jalapeƱo peppers to taste.
